ROCk like a Superstar!

For all of you JB fans, the 3D movie/concert  hits theaters today!!  And if you don't have JB's initials scribbled all over your notebook (and surrounded with hearts <3 <3).. or you could care less about going to see the movie, well "Never say Never" (hehe) because Bieber Fever IS contagious.  Or so I've heard ;)

Ok, so maybe Justin Bieber is not one of your top faves.  Then who is?  Whether you're into Bruno Mars.. Justin Bieber... or any of the other kazillion pop star icons, what is it about them that makes a girl spend every last dollar of her allowance to buy more "stuff".... or fight with her BFFs over who liked him first... scream OMG every time you see him on tv...or get googly eyed and daydream about being his girl????  Or maybe you are totally obsessed with Selena Gomez, Bridget Mendler, or Miranda Cosgrove.  You wanna be JUST like them!  What's up with that??! 

Maybe it's because famous ppl seem soooo kool.  They have perfect smiles, perfect clothes, THE perfect life, right ???   Or maybe it's because we think that being friends with a star would make us shine too.  We would be important.. popular... special.  Other girls would be green with envy because we have the perfect bf/bff.  Being a STAR would be awesome, huh??!?  So, we need to copy and/or obsess over everything about them so that we can be "special" too.  Their clothes.  Their style.  Their hair.  Their faves.   And sometimes, their bad behavior too!

Although it IS fun to admire or look up to some our fave celebs, we shouldn't "idolize" them.  One definition of idolize means "to worship".  There is only ONE Superstar that deserves to be worshiped and that's JESUS, gf!  The bible says that we should have no other idols but God (Exodus 20:3-4 ).  Anything that takes away from our time with God IS an idol!  We need to put Him first, so that we don't get too caught up in the hype.  We can't spend ALL of our time daydreaming, doodling, drooling, and obsessing over the glitter and glam.. We DO need to spend time in God's Word.. doodling and dreaming about the future He has planned for us.. and obsessing over the love He has for each of us!

It's ok to have a top faves list of celebs.  It's ok to watch movies.. go to concerts.. read about them, etc.   It's ok to look up to and admire them as long they are being GOOD role models.  But it's NOT ok to think you have to be just like them in order to be "special".  You  ARE important.  You ARE special and unique.  You ARE loved more then you could ever daydream about.  You ARE someone's girl.  You're HIS girl-- God's Girl!  And you can SHINE with God's Love brighter than any pop star ever could!   He has given you so many gifts and talents, and He has an awesome plan for your life.  You may never be "famous", but you're already a Superstar in God's eyes!  The world is your stage, girlfriend.. ROCk it like a REAL Superstar-- RELY ON CHRIST!   Keep ROCkin girlz~ Mrs. J
